Three Club Charity Event

It was great to meet you both and the rest of the angling group last night. I enjoyed the meeting and was both thrilled and amazed at the amount of money you have raised. What struck me though was the fabulous spirit of community with you all coming together to support Colin and his family when they have been through the most horrific of experiences. Colin you must feel very proud to have such wonderful friends and support in your community. I am touched by this on both a personal and professional level. Claire House exists because of wonderful people like you who have empathy for others and do something to make a difference.

If you could let me know what you decide to call your newly formed angling group we can ensure you get a copy certificate for all three locations more if required and thank you letters to those people we also discussed namely Dougie Walsh c/o Asda Ellesmere Port and Martin at Firtrees Wigan.

17th June - Three Way Charity Match - Fir Tree

Well 24 turned out and after fishing 8 sections of 3 Rivacre ran out the winners with five section wins, two seconds and a third.

Ian Lloyd ran out the individual winner of the first Three Club Charity event at Fir Tree with his catch of 35.6lb of mainly Carp + silvers caught at 17m on corn. Ian fed a pot of corn and pellet on this line, but started on the inside and had a couple of bits, but after an hour or so decided to try the far line on corn where he caught steady for the rest of the match.

Second was Billy Gore with 33.0lb caught on meat and pellet at 16m mainly down the inside and over. Billy was as doubled over at the end holding the pole for that length of time, and didn’t feel too good either suffering from food poisoning (could it be Dougie poisioning his butties to give us all a chance) third was Dave Cargill from Eggy Ferry with 20.7lb again caught over on pellet but managed a few from the track as well.

The total money looks like being over £2.000 and Rick has asked everyone to collect all their sponsors’ money by the 2^nd July for the WBAC meeting on the 9^th so Clair House representatives can come to collect the cheque. Keith is organising a Big cheque from the bank for the photos.

Billy Gore, soon to be sponsored by Plumrose is 'the man' and is just unstoppable at the moment. He ran out the winner from a very close frame at Fir Tree's new match lake. I understand its bites a plenty and good fishing for all ten who fished with the lowest weight recorded being 10.7lb.

Expensive day for Dougie though........anyone got a spare TPro no7 section.......ouch!!!

Massive well done to the framers this was a tough match with very few fish if you drew out of the wind but even when they are there you have to get them out and Trevor and Ted showed us the way.....lots of 'bank walkers' and 'pack away merchants' looking for sandwiches etc

Brrrrr.....that was a cold one but at least we got to fish it.....in the end............arrived at 8.30 to find 6 guys about to get their gear out......they had booked the trout lake.......then when we got our gear out another local club arrived and told us they were booked on......three lakes, four clubs, Rivacre not in the diary OMG.....uncle Rick our resident coach and mediator sorted the day and we got to fish it though.

Jeff pelleted it - what a surprise, Ian S was maggot and groundbait nice change, Rob pelleted it, don't know about Billy but Alec was corn and maggot after salvaging some bait off the floor when his bait all blew over!!!!! It was a bit cold and wild if you were in the wind......Jeff and Billy weren't. Ian Rob and Alec were and were blue still back at the pub!

Rivacre Blog

Well Lloydy asked for a blog so here goes, its going to be simple like Lloydy (hold it don't jump to conclusions) asked for but if anyone wants to chip in I can set them up with edit access and they can add content to their hearts content.

Clearly it will only get updated if I get to see the results though!!!!!
